When data opens up the realm of possibilities

A pioneer of French tech since its creation in 1983, Cegid has always given a central place to technological innovation to support its 350,000 customers in their digital transformation. Data is now at the heart of a publisher’s business. “Tillions of management data – financial, legal, HR, commercial – pass through our software every year, which are analyzed and sorted to generate accurate insights into our customers’ issues and needs. This gives Cegid a privileged vantage point to continue to take the pulse of the French economy,” underlined Pierre-Antoine Roy, Head of Innovation Projects and Cegid Data Lab.
Collecting data is one thing, knowing how to interpret it is another. In a program centered on data management and visualization, Cegid Data Lab nuggets will provide useful and innovative answers to a decisive challenge for companies today: making data speak.

A promotion of 7 start-ups to imagine the future of data

Since the beginning of November, Cegid Data Lab has welcomed, for the next 9 months, 7 start-ups in the financial, retail and HR sectors, selected from 70 applications. Each of them has chosen, according to their needs and goals, three advisors from a panel of Cegid experts, some of whom are part of Comex, and who will accompany them throughout the program. Participants also benefit from master classes taught by experts in areas important to the development of their business: data, design, User Interface and Experience, sales, marketing, pricing, financial management/accounting; access to its UX/UI Lab to test their solutions; partnerships and experiments with Cegid customers and solutions. Throughout the duration of the program, start-ups will also have the opportunity to participate in networking events, media visibility actions, etc. to accelerate the development and marketing of their product, the growth of their activity. as well as the influence of their brand.

Tailor-made mentoring and cross-fertilization

Grégory Amzel, co-founder and CEO of Humanics.ai – a SaaS solution that helps luxury, fashion and beauty brands make their stores more efficient by constantly adapting their actions to those profile of their customers – is not in his first incubation experience. Having worked in the first two incubators, he measures the wealth of support offered within the Cegid Data Lab framework: “We benefited from both business expertise, our SaaS software, and expertise in the retail sector, which is exactly the segment we want conquer. Olivier Chiono, director of the retail offer at Cegid, and one of our three mentors, accompanied us on the issues of visibility, fame and value proposition. Through this, we took part in two key events for our business: the Cegid Retail Club in Paris and the Cegid Connections Retail in Monaco, which triggered several conversations with players in the sector. »
But the relationship between Cegid and start-ups does not stop at the end of the acceleration course. It is intended to last over time through a network of alumni. Beyond this network, some start-ups have also made technological and commercial partnerships with Cegid.
M-Work, a hybrid work organization solution, incubated in January 2022, is a good example. As explained by Joséphine de Leusse, its co-founder: “For us, these 9 months represent the first milestones of a very rich collaboration. Cegid, as a key player in the HR ecosystem, has allowed to us to strengthen our product on the design side, by providing us with reading grids, methods essential to the development of our offer. We developed a deep relationship with Cegid, who later became our client”.

A win-win approach

Pierre-Antoine Roy is convinced of this: “Cegid experts who volunteer to support a start-up do so purposefully focusing on the needs of their mentee. And in the end, they leave with new working methods , new tools, a new ecosystem whose culture and best practices they spread within their teams… Reverse mentoring is so important both for personal development and for agility and the business dynamic that it instills within the company. The spirit of innovation guided the creation of Cegid and remains at the heart of our culture. »
A view shared by Olivier Chiono, who has supported Humanitics.ai for 9 months and continues to do so on an ad hoc basis: “When you see this ecosystem at Station F, it makes sense. Thanks for this kind of initiative, I organize meetings between start-ups and my teams to make, for example, cross pitches. The idea is to spread this entrepreneurial spirit among us, so that my employees to change, take risks. “.
An acceleration program which plays the role of a link between, on the one hand, the support that Cegid can offer to these start-ups that require expertise in specific subjects, and on the other hand, the desire to continue to innovate a company like Cegid .
